The function does not effect the Itch version. What happens is: the function called, see if it is the Steam version, and processes it. This is to add Steam achievements. That is not available in the Itch version because it requires the Steam SDK, which I do not distribute in the Itch version. However, it will stop an exception screen from popping up because of this.
